Default Installation Instructions

I downloaded the ZIP file for "Amazing 3D Spiral Carousel AS2" that I just purchased. I unzipped the file, but I do not see the folders indicated in your HELP pdf.

There is no "slideShow" folder.

There is no movie clip named "slideshow".

Here are the instructions from the HELP pdf:

In order to use the component into you projects you must first copy the folder named “slideShow folder”
(found in the library after you open the sourcefile you downloaded) into your new projects library and then drag and
drop the movieclip named slideshow (found inside the slideShow group) .Position your slideshow as you want . You
must have the “settings.xml” file in “Config If you need interactions with user’s pictures clicked you will find a function
named “function pictureClick(par)” into “pictureClick.as” file found into your “ fla file” folder. That parameter “name” is a
variable name from xml that you will receive if then “param=" is other than “_blank” (into xml file).

Here is a list of the contents of the zip file you sent me (I didn't list ALL of the PNG or JPG files, as they are not relevant):

MORE DETAILS:

Please have a look at the following:

A) preview

B) http://www.boomerangbookstore.com/WebForm2.aspx

A works, B does not

A is just a plain ordinary .html file --- the index.html that you supply with the code.

B is a WebForm (.aspx) which has a Web Control that it references. The Web Control is basically the SAME CODE as the index.html file. But it will not work. I cannot figure-out why.

I'll attach the relevant files.

Thanks,

Tom

OKAY!!!!

Welp, I finally figured-it-out.

HERE IS MY SAMPLE CODE...

As an ASP .NET Web User Control (.ASCX):

<%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="FeaturedBooks.ascx.cs" Inherits="Boomerang_Bookstore.CustomControls.Featu redBooks" %>

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">

I hope this helps somebody out.

As far as installation, I created a NEW FOLDER in my ASP .NET project --- and then I just copied EVERYTHING from the folder named "3-site-folder" (after unpackaging the ZIP file). At this point, everything should be able to use the carousel, whether it be a WebForm or a Web User Control.

Thanks,

Tom

Default WHOA! Wait a min!!

I am TOTALLY lost here...

I thought maybe I was going to get some good pointers in this thread. Reading just the first post I was finding exactly what I came here to find out. I purchased this viewer and found exactly the same problem... The instructions do not seem to follow the files included...

But post2 and on just did not make sense to me - based on the problem...

I have got very little web building experience and maybe I bit off more than I can chew with trying to incorporate something like this. Heck - I'm not even 'writing' my web pages, but instead using the WYSIWYG building software.

So, if the instructions are wrong, pointing you to files/directories that do not exist, where do I go to get the right information????

A note from the preview page:
Quote:
Note : in the preview a setting of 2 has been used for blur quality, 1 will make the rendering significantly faster and 3 will make the blur quality much better. More on this in the help file.
I don't remember seeing anything in the help document.....

Not sure...
I have been playing around with this all morning and have gotten no where.

Using a WYSIWYG webpage builder I can add in a flash object. When I do this I point the object to the preview.swf file. In the builder I get a blank area for this and I can re-size and position it where I would like it to be. Yet when I try and preview the page there is nothing there.

I think that this may be a need to do some actual HTML editing, I will not just be able to drag/drop this into my page and make it work. But I would have thought adding the preview.swf file would have considering if I click on that file I will open up a small flash viewer showing me the carosel with images.

So, all in all I am not exactly sure what I am looking for. I originally logged into this forum to post the exact question as in post 1. But the following posts just got me no where ...

Default confused

There are three folders. Which contains the .swf I am supposed to adjust? 1-Source, 2-Test or 3-Site-Preview? I adjusted the settings in the xml file from the 3-Site-Preview and the new photos show when I open the preview.swf. However I am placing the file in a dreamweaver page and when i preview the flash is blank. Any ideas?

Thank you
