I downloaded the ZIP file for "Amazing 3D Spiral Carousel AS2" that I just purchased. I unzipped the file, but I do not see the folders indicated in your HELP pdf.
There is no "slideShow" folder. There is no movie clip named "slideshow". Here are the instructions from the HELP pdf: In order to use the component into you projects you must first copy the folder named “slideShow folder” (found in the library after you open the sourcefile you downloaded) into your new projects library and then drag and drop the movieclip named slideshow (found inside the slideShow group) .Position your slideshow as you want . You must have the “settings.xml” file in “Config If you need interactions with user’s pictures clicked you will find a function named “function pictureClick(par)” into “pictureClick.as” file found into your “ fla file” folder. That parameter “name” is a variable name from xml that you will receive if then “param=" is other than “_blank” (into xml file). Here is a list of the contents of the zip file you sent me (I didn't list ALL of the PNG or JPG files, as they are not relevant): Volume in drive C is ACER Volume Serial Number is 2AA8-1BF3 Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1 06/14/2009 07:52 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:52 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> 1-Source 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> 2-Test 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> 3-Site-Preview 06/14/2009 07:52 PM 0 filesfound.txt 06/14/2009 07:38 PM 137 photo-credits.txt 06/14/2009 07:38 PM 58,368 Readme-Help-File.doc 06/14/2009 07:38 PM 67,397 Readme-Help-File.pdf 4 File(s) 125,902 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\1-Source 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> As 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> Config 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 86,016 preview.fla 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> test-images 1 File(s) 86,016 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\1-Source\As 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 5,139 engine3d.as 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 4,395 functions.as 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 4,326 loadSettings.as 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 159 pictureClick.as 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 5,930 slideshow.as 5 File(s) 19,949 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\1-Source\Config 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 1,830 settings.xml 1 File(s) 1,830 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\1-Source\test-images 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 18,989 1.jpg 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 16,213 3.jpg ETC., ETC.... 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 20,947 test.swf 7 File(s) 121,087 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\2-Test 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 8,321 AC_RunActiveContent.js 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> Config 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 447 data.css 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 2,061 index.html 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 24,229 preview.swf 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> test-images 4 File(s) 35,058 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\2-Test\Config 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 3,484 settings.xml 1 File(s) 3,484 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\2-Test\test-images 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 7,550 01.png 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 5,894 02.png 10 File(s) 69,493 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\3-Site-Preview 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 8,321 AC_RunActiveContent.js 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> Config 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 2,061 index.html 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 86,503 preview.swf 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> test-images 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> test-images2 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> transparent 3 File(s) 96,885 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\3-Site-Preview\Config 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 3,483 config1.xml 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 4,786 config2.xml 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 2,043 config3.xml 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 4,280 config4.xml 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 3,484 settings.xml 5 File(s) 18,076 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\3-Site-Preview\test-images 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 7,550 01.png 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 5,894 02.png BUNCH OF PNG's 10 File(s) 69,493 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\3-Site-Preview\test-images2 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 30,789 01.jpg 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 10,929 02.jpg 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 19,969 03.jpg ETC., ETC.... 10 File(s) 201,800 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\3-Site-Preview\transparent 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 2,193 01.png 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 2,205 02.png 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 2,051 03.png <<<WHOLE BUNCH OF .PNG FILES>>>>>>> 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 3,116 24.png 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 2,016 25.png 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 1,923 26.png 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> bk 26 File(s) 75,280 bytes Directory of C:\AMAZIN~1\3-Site-Preview\transparent\bk 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> . 06/14/2009 07:50 PM <DIR> .. 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 2,264 01.png 06/14/2009 07:37 PM 2,285 02.png <<<WHOLE BUNCH OF .PNG FILES>>>>>>> 06/14/2009 07:38 PM 3,221 24.png 06/14/2009 07:38 PM 2,111 25.png 06/14/2009 07:38 PM 2,003 26.png 26 File(s) 77,798 bytes Total Files Listed: 113 File(s) 1,002,151 bytes 41 Dir(s) 23,290,208,256 bytes free |

MORE DETAILS:
Please have a look at the following: A) preview B) http://www.boomerangbookstore.com/WebForm2.aspx A works, B does not A is just a plain ordinary .html file --- the index.html that you supply with the code. B is a WebForm (.aspx) which has a Web Control that it references. The Web Control is basically the SAME CODE as the index.html file. But it will not work. I cannot figure-out why. I'll attach the relevant files. Thanks, Tom =================== SAMPLE HTML FILE: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>preview</title> <script language="javascript">AC_FL_RunContent = 0;</script> <script src="AC_RunActiveContent.js" language="javascript"></script> </head> <body bgcolor="#2e2e2e" topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" bottommargin="0" rightmargin="0"> <!--url's used in the movie--> <!--text used in the movie--> <!-- saved from url=(0013)about:internet --> <script language="javascript"> if (AC_FL_RunContent == 0) { alert("This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js."); } else { AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase', 'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0', 'width', '100%', 'height', '100%', 'src', 'preview', 'quality', 'high', 'pluginspage', 'http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer', 'align', 'middle', 'play', 'true', 'loop', 'true', 'scale', 'showall', 'wmode', 'window', 'devicefont', 'false', 'id', 'preview', 'bgcolor', '#2e2e2e', 'name', 'preview', 'menu', 'true', 'allowFullScreen', 'false', 'allowScriptAccess','sameDomain', 'movie', 'preview', 'salign', '' ); //end AC code } </script> <noscript> <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="100%" height="100%" id="preview" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" /> <param name="movie" value="~/CustomControls/FeaturedBooks/preview.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#2e2e2e" /> <embed src="preview.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#2e2e2e" width="100%" height="100%" name="preview" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /> </object> </noscript> </body> </html> ------------------------- ------------------------- MY WEB CONTROL (and my attempt to just use the code from above): <%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="FeaturedBooks.ascx.cs" Inherits="Boomerang_Bookstore.CustomControls.Featu redBooks" %> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">AC_FL_RunContent = 1;</script> <script src="~/CustomControls/FeaturedBooks/AC_RunActiveContent.js" language="javascript" type="text/javascript"></script> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> if (AC_FL_RunContent == 0) { alert("This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js."); } else { AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase', 'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0', 'width', '100%', 'height', '100%', 'src', 'preview', 'quality', 'high', 'pluginspage', 'http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer', 'align', 'middle', 'play', 'true', 'loop', 'true', 'scale', 'showall', 'wmode', 'window', 'devicefont', 'false', 'id', 'preview', 'bgcolor', '#2e2e2e', 'name', 'preview', 'menu', 'true', 'allowFullScreen', 'false', 'allowScriptAccess', 'sameDomain', 'movie', 'preview', 'salign', '' ); //end AC code } </script> <noscript> <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="100%" height="100%" id="preview" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" /> <param name="movie" value="~/CustomControls/FeaturedBooks/preview.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#2e2e2e" /> <embed src="preview.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#2e2e2e" width="100%" height="100%" name="preview" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /> </object> </noscript> Last edited by knowlton; 06-15-2009 at 01:48 PM. |

OKAY!!!!
Welp, I finally figured-it-out. HERE IS MY SAMPLE CODE... As an ASP .NET Web User Control (.ASCX): <%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="FeaturedBooks.ascx.cs" Inherits="Boomerang_Bookstore.CustomControls.Featu redBooks" %> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title></title> <script language="javascript">AC_FL_RunContent = 0;</script> <script src="AC_RunActiveContent.js" language="javascript"></script> </head> <body bgcolor="#2e2e2e" topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" bottommargin="0" rightmargin="0"> <div> <!--url's used in the movie--> <!--text used in the movie--> <!-- saved from url=(0013)about:internet --> <script language="javascript"> if (AC_FL_RunContent == 0) { alert("This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js."); } else { AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase', 'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0', 'width', '100%', 'height', '100%', 'src', 'preview', 'quality', 'high', 'pluginspage', 'http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer', 'align', 'middle', 'play', 'true', 'loop', 'true', 'scale', 'showall', 'wmode', 'window', 'devicefont', 'false', 'id', 'preview', 'bgcolor', '#2e2e2e', 'name', 'preview', 'menu', 'true', 'allowFullScreen', 'false', 'allowScriptAccess', 'sameDomain', 'movie', 'preview', 'salign', '' ); //end AC code } </script> <noscript> <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="100%" height="100%" id="preview" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" /> <param name="movie" value="~/CustomControls/FeaturedBooks/preview.swf" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="bgcolor" value="#2e2e2e" /> <embed src="preview.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#2e2e2e" width="100%" height="100%" name="preview" align="middle" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" allowfullscreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /> </object> </noscript> </div> </body> </html> ============ As a WebForm (.aspx) page: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="WebForm1.aspx.cs" Inherits="Boomerang_Bookstore.CustomControls.Featu redBooksa.WebForm1" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>preview</title> <script language="javascript">AC_FL_RunContent = 0;</script> <script src="AC_RunActiveContent.js" language="javascript"></script> </head> <body bgcolor="#2e2e2e" topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" bottommargin="0" rightmargin="0"> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <!--url's used in the movie--> <!--text used in the movie--> <!-- saved from url=(0013)about:internet --> <script language="javascript"> if (AC_FL_RunContent == 0) { alert("This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js."); } else { AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase', 'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0', 'width', '100%', 'height', '100%', 'src', 'preview', 'quality', 'high', 'pluginspage', 'http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer', 'align', 'middle', 'play', 'true', 'loop', 'true', 'scale', 'showall', 'wmode', 'window', 'devicefont', 'false', 'id', 'preview', 'bgcolor', '#2e2e2e', 'name', 'preview', 'menu', 'true', 'allowFullScreen', 'false', 'allowScriptAccess', 'sameDomain', 'movie', 'preview', 'salign', '' ); //end AC code } </script> <noscript> <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="100%" height="100%" id="preview" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" /> <param name="movie" value="~/CustomControls/FeaturedBooks/preview.swf" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="bgcolor" value="#2e2e2e" /> <embed src="preview.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#2e2e2e" width="100%" height="100%" name="preview" align="middle" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" allowfullscreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /> </object> </noscript> </div> </form> </body> </html> I hope this helps somebody out. As far as installation, I created a NEW FOLDER in my ASP .NET project --- and then I just copied EVERYTHING from the folder named "3-site-folder" (after unpackaging the ZIP file). At this point, everything should be able to use the carousel, whether it be a WebForm or a Web User Control. Thanks, Tom |

I am TOTALLY lost here...
I thought maybe I was going to get some good pointers in this thread. Reading just the first post I was finding exactly what I came here to find out. I purchased this viewer and found exactly the same problem... The instructions do not seem to follow the files included... But post2 and on just did not make sense to me - based on the problem... I have got very little web building experience and maybe I bit off more than I can chew with trying to incorporate something like this. Heck - I'm not even 'writing' my web pages, but instead using the WYSIWYG building software. So, if the instructions are wrong, pointing you to files/directories that do not exist, where do I go to get the right information???? |

Not sure...
I have been playing around with this all morning and have gotten no where. Using a WYSIWYG webpage builder I can add in a flash object. When I do this I point the object to the preview.swf file. In the builder I get a blank area for this and I can re-size and position it where I would like it to be. Yet when I try and preview the page there is nothing there. I think that this may be a need to do some actual HTML editing, I will not just be able to drag/drop this into my page and make it work. But I would have thought adding the preview.swf file would have considering if I click on that file I will open up a small flash viewer showing me the carosel with images. So, all in all I am not exactly sure what I am looking for. I originally logged into this forum to post the exact question as in post 1. But the following posts just got me no where ... |

There are three folders. Which contains the .swf I am supposed to adjust? 1-Source, 2-Test or 3-Site-Preview? I adjusted the settings in the xml file from the 3-Site-Preview and the new photos show when I open the preview.swf. However I am placing the file in a dreamweaver page and when i preview the flash is blank. Any ideas?
Thank you |
