I just bought this gallery and can't get anyone to help me with it. I am loading the swf file into a loader component on my flash page and this is what is coming up (attached jpeg). This is the error message:
Error opening URL 'file:///Macintosh%20HD/Users/tberry/Desktop/Shitl%5FRacing%5FWebsite/development%5Ffiles/data.xml' The data file is in the Source/Preview folder just like it was when I downloaded it. Why does it think it is in another folder? I needs to stay in it's own folder because I have multiple galleries with their own data file. I am getting very frustrated with this gallery, what is the problem?? |

I guess you must be using a mac for this. I designed the gallery in Windows and I can only guess that the problem could be the use of flashvars. If it's so please make the following corrections. In index.fla click on the first frame to see the as code, go to line 11 and replace it with ( xmlOb.load("data.xml"); ) |

I did that but now it won't let me publish a new swf file.
It says: Error creating Flash movie file. Be sure the destination file is not locked or on a locked drive. Also, check that the file name is not too long. Is there a setting I need to change somewhere? The drive is not locked and I don't know if the destination file is locked or not... how do I tell? Last edited by TeresaSSE; 06-11-2008 at 05:27 PM. Go to file -> publish settings (there there must be defined the address of the output as well as the address of the xml) ex -> ( ../test/index.swf ) result-> the images/xml and any other file used for the gallery is here (except for the source code) please verify this ![]() |

Ok, I changed the action script in the flash file like you said, I changed the publish destinations like you said, have a new swf file and html file and when I load the swf into the loader component on my page, I am still getting the image of the jpeg I posted earlier and the same error message:
Error opening URL 'file:///Macintosh%20HD/Users/tberry/Desktop/Stihl%5FRacing%5FWebsite/development%5Ffiles/data.xml' I really appreciate all of your help, and I really need to get these galleries loaded into my flash page. I don't know what else to do. Why would I keep getting this error message? Is there something I need to specify in my original flash page so that the loader component can find the files? I am putting the directory in the content path of the paramaters for the loader. (galleryLauderdale/Source/Preview/index.swf -which are all inside the development_files folder as the error message has above) I don't understand why the error message keeps saying it can't find the data file. it is in the same folder as the swf! Any help is GREATLY appreciated! I need to get this page done! Thank you!!! |

![]() These are the default settings on the files that I have on my PC. More than this I really can't tell you. You could try to upload all this on a server to test it. ![]() |
