Title Appearing Over Menu Item

Hi I'd like to know if it's possible, and how I could make the title of each menu item appear over each menu item. So instead of having the word or the name of the menu item in the actual image, i would like it to appear with a fade effect above the image as you mouse over. Thanks for any eventual help

sorry, obviously the name of the menu item would stay when it is in the front!
