description for each image in gallery

I need to know if it is possible to have a description for each image within a gallery? If so what would I need to do? If not is plans on a update that would allow this?

We do not plan an update but I might do this for you as custom work if you want... I could use either a tooltip or build a text field somewhere inside the gallery.

So what are we looking at for a cost and timeframe? What I would want is a text attribute in the xml for each picture, and a text field that would show up on either hover or image load on the top of the image. Similar to some of the other image galleries that show text description on hover of image. It would be nice to be able to set a flag in the xml to either show always or never for a gallery.
