Hello,
I have a problem importing the gallery into my website, the following error occurs: "A 'with' action failed because the specified object did not exist" I'm using a simple loadMovie action: lm1.loadMovie ("riders.swf"); Can you please tell me where's the problem? I've looked at all the .as file and couldn't find out why... |

I am having the same problem, except I have the gallery in different scene & timeline exclusively dedicated to the control. I have my main timeline/scene we can call it A and then Scene B is exclusively for the gallery component.
When I switch to Scene B, the gallery component functions as expected. I place a button on that scene that takes the user back to the Scene A (main timeline). I use the gotoAndPlay("Scene A",1) command. At this point the output screen fills up with the warning message: A 'with' action failed because the specified object did not exist This message will repeat in the output screen about 30 times and then continues. There are no stop errors or crashes, but these warnings popping up on the output screen are not good! I would like to solve this problem - I like having my components and code - bullet-proof! Please help! Last edited by thornfield; 08-03-2009 at 07:38 PM. Reason: Clarification |

That happens only when you load the gallery and then you remove it. Some code related to it still runs in the back but it cannot find the gallery. The gallery was mainly created to be used as standalone. You can just ignore the warning, it has no harm when you put it online.

I had the same error on Tab Gallery ("Error: A 'with' action failed because the specified object did not exist.").
I'm trying to load the file from another swf. The first time I load it's all OK, if I unload it and reload it, it gives the error above and then stops loading (I get the gallery with default title and default text but with my images). I believe that in the middle of the code, something crashes and flash stops loading the file. |
