absolute reference to data.xml

In the main.as I am trying to reference my data.xml file absolutely with a URL.

It worked, however, it makes the text in the 1st level tabs disappear (all that is left is the rounded corners). The 2nd level menu shows up fine.

Any ideas on how I could reference the xml file absolutely without having this issue?
