This issue has been discussed over and over regarding the horizontal or vertical scrollers (or other scrollers). It is really hard to find good explanation that can clear things for everyone. You should trust me on this, it's not like I don't want to help. Here it goes: This scroller is mouse position based and NOT speed based, relative to the mouse position.
1. Mouse position based scrollers - just think of them as an mask with scrollbar and a very long content (that is masked ofcourse); the difference is that you do not click and drag something (scrollbar) to move the content (in our case, the list of thumbs), you just move the mouse; tehnically you cannot control the speed. 2. Speed based scrollers, relative to mouse position - think at those scrollers where when the mouse is in the center of the thumbs list the speed is zero; once you roll the mouse towards the edges the speed starts to increase and the list either slides to the left or right with a higher speed as you approach either the left or right edge. here you can control the speed (actually the maximum speed that you can reach) They might look the same but they're not. Take a look these two examples: 1. Mouse position based Horizontal Scroller by OXYLUS 2. Speed based relative to mouse position Fading Slider by OXYLUS These explanations may not be very scientific but maybe it will help you understand. In your case, it is not possible. Changing it to a speed based scrolling will result in a total new product since the coding and the approach are pretty different. |
