I loaded this into my html project but the file won’t display in Firefox once uploaded on my site. How do I make this cross-browser friendly?

It should be cross-browser friendly since it’s flash and should not depend on which browser it’s opened. Also it’s been tested on FF 2 .0 and 3.0 and worked fine, did you try with the other browsers and had no problems ? You might have left something out in the embed code ?

Do you have a source you can direct me for embedding code?

Try embeding it with swf object. You can find it here:

Default crashes firefox if no xml file is found

Any way to prevent it from crashing firefox on the mac and pc if the xml load fails ? This seems to be happening 100 % consistently for me.

thanks

Default twitter?

I had a quick question regarding this flash driven newsticker... ( i just got it) and I was wondering, is it possible to integrate it with twitter?

I'd like to pull a (read only) twitter feed (only one account) into it... so that it would refresh every 10seconds or so to display updates made into twitter... using exactly the layout that you have. I've found something similar at Twitter but I love your layout and look and feel much better...

Thank you for a great entry!!

Hi,
Sorry, but the news ticker doesn't work with rss feeds. You could use php to parse the rss feed and generate a xml structure similar to the one that the news ticker works with.

Default Bold?

First, let me say this is an excellent little news ticker.

I was able to change the font, but I can't seem to make it render as bold. I tried from within Flash, but the copy wouldn't even show up.

Thoughts?

Flash CS3
Arial font (unfortunately, Arial Black is too bold...)
